French Skincare Haul.

Last week one of my favourite websites Escentual had 20% off everything. I was in desperate need of sorting my skin care out, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try out some new products. I like the rest of the blogging community, am obsessed with French skin care, so I went all out and ordered a whole variety of it,

I went for the Caudalie Grape Water spray as a recommendation on Caroline Hirons' blog. It's a super light spray and is perfect for a quick an easy toning step in my routine. I picked up the most raved about lip balm on the internet - NUXE reve de miel in a limited edition green pot, which is pretty cute.

For cleanser and moisturiser I've picked up two things I've not heard a great deal about, but for reading online reviews they seemed a good option for me. I chose the Avene Cold Creme Cleansing Gel, which is a light gel cleanser for sensitive skin. Finally I picked up the La Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturiser, which is a light, balancing moisturiser for those with awkward skin, like me.

I've only tried these products a few times so far, so expect some reviews soon.

What's your favourite French Skincare?

Mother & Daughter Spa Day.

Last week myself and my mum were super lucky and invited down to the The Radisson Blu Edwardian, Manchester Hotel to try out the Mother's day Mother and Daughter Spa Package in the Sienna Spa. We headed down to the hotel spa and were greeted by the lovely staff and given a quick health questionnaire. We then popped off to get changed into our swimwear and gowns, ready for a super relaxing afternoon.

We began our spa experience in the relax lounge, which is a gorgeous space full of peaceful images and tranquil music. The therapists came to greet us and off we went out separate ways for our treatments. I opted for a facial and a manicure, while my mum had a facial and full body massage.

The entire facial was tailored to my needs using the Espa range. It was the most relaxing 60 minutes I've ever experienced and I would 100% book in for another. The facial included a neck and arm massage as well as a face mask, exfoliation, cleanse and numerous oils. The Espa range was incredible, and I was so concerned about it breaking me out. but instead my skin was glowing and it's seriously never felt better. I was given a little menu after my treatment to show what products had been used.

Next onto the manicure, I was given a good tidy up and painted with a gorgeous coral colour from the Jessica nail range. It was just what I needed and my nails were in desperate need for a sort out.

After our treatments we headed into the spa and spent some time in the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi before heading for afternoon tea.

We headed up to the restaurant and were seated ready for our afternoon tea. I was a little concerned about the gluten free options but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. My afternoon tea was delicious and my scone and cakes looked even more yummy that my mum's. We both had a selection of sandwiches, home made scones with clotted cream and a selection of little cakes. I couldn't manage to eat all of mine but I totally took the cake home for later. We were kindly given glass of Champagne to wash down our cakes and a selection of fruit teas to finish off our super relaxing afternoon.

Documenting 2015.

At the beginning of this year I decided I wanted to document all the lovely things I have planned in a scrapbook. Partly influenced by Lily Pebbles I took it upon myself to make a book to hold physical evidence of any exciting events I was involved in during 2015. I'm forever taking photos but they never seem to make it off my phone or Facebook into a real life album, so this year I'm making the effort and trying to resort back to the old ways of documenting your life.

So far I haven't had much to write about, however I will be printing some photos from Portpatrick as soon as I get chance. I've mainly been focusing on making the pages look pretty and playing around with ribbon and stickers. I'm a true child at heart and still find something really therapeutic about doing 'arty' things.

My actual scrapbook was an absolute steal from Paperchase, just after Christmas. I paid a tiny £2.50 for it and it's just the best quality and has the cutest owl print. I picked up most my bits and bobs from Wilkinsons in the Christmas sale and they have THE best selection of stickers in the kids stationary section. I certainly will be popping back to invest in some princess stickers. I've also been playing around with buttons and ribbons from my Kirstie Allsop Button Kit* from Hobbycraft which has so many pretty buttons and fastenings to choose from. I must invest in a glue gun to keep them all in place though. The kit also comes with metal work to create your own jewellery, which I really need to have a good play around with.

I can't wait to continue my scrapbook and look back at the final result at the end of the year. I hope it's something I can keep forever and show my family as I get older.

The £20 Zara Coat.

I'm pretty obsessed with Zara at the moment. Their clothes are just perfect and the fit is pretty great too. I managed to pick up a few bits in the sale recently. Zara's sale is always the best when it's been going for some time and the stuff gets reduced even further. I picked us some cute tees a few weeks back for £1.99 each, which was a complete steal.

I'd been eyeing up this coat for some time. It was originally reduced down to £30 and I so desperately wanted to but hadn't been paid. So I waited it out and popped back to see if they still had it in stock. To my surprise there was one in stock, in my size and had been reduced down to £20 - a complete and utter bargain.

The coat is amazing quality, really well made and I can tell this is going to be a staple in my wardrobe for a long time. The entire lining of the coat, including the hood is covered with super soft monochrome fur, which makes it incredibly thick and cosy.

I'm so excited about my bargain, you just can't beat Zara for clothes.

The Handbag Essentials.

If like me you dump everything and anything into your handbag, you'll know how irritating it is when you forget something. I do have a few handbag essentials that I seriously cannot leave the house without. My phone and iPad are up there with the most important things to accompany me out of the house, but I also have a few other bits I find hard to live without.

I will always have my diary with me. I'm the most forgetful person on the planet, so I have to write everything down. The chances are if I don't mark it in my diary, it won't happen. My other essentials are a little more vanity based. I always carry a perfume for spritzing when I'm out and about. At the moment my scent of choice is Illamasqua Freak, which was a complete bargain form Boots after Xmas. It's the perfect scent for applying on the go and isn't too overpowering when I'm out and about.

My bag is full of lip products and I'm always alternating between my nudes. At the moment my product of choice has been the Soap & Glory Gloss Crayons which are perfect for on the move. I don't need a mirror to apply and they leave a lovely wash of colour and sheen to the lips, plus they feel quite mositurising too.

Hair-wise I picked up a salt spray from Superdrug which is pretty good for the budget price. I like to add a little texture to my locks, especially if I've been caught in the rain and my hair is back to it's straight, limp self. Lastly, I always carry a hand cream. Working in health care my hands get so dry and they are constantly irritating me. I've recently been using the Yes Nurse* Brest Cancer Care handcream, which is easily the best cream I've ever used. I've raved about this is the past, but if you get cracked hands like me you need to pick up a bottle.

What are your handbag essentials?

Portpatrick, Scotland.

This weekend I spent three nights in the picturesque village of Portpatrick in Scotland. After a crazy long drive we arrived at the most gorgeous holiday house and met up with the hubby's family. I pretty much spent the weekend chilling out, exploring, taking in the sea air and eating as much as physically possible.

The coast was perfect, I'm a huge lover of the sea and this was just the most idyllic place. It was pretty refreshing spending the weekend somewhere very quiet, without the hustle and bustle of the city in which I'm used to. We also managed to get lovely weather both days, the sun was shining and the wind was quite low. It was the perfect amount of time to spend away and I have to admit by the end of the break I was ready to get some 3G back.

Anyway I will let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Homemade Gluten Free Bread.

You all know I'm gluten free, which means anything yummy I can't have. If you've ever tried supermarket GF bread, you'll know that it's very cardboard like and really not very pleasant. So when Tower gave me the opportunity to bake my own bread at home, I jumped at the chance.

The Tower Gluten Free Digital Break Maker* is so easy to use and bakes me a fresh GF loaf in less than 3 hours. It's really easy, all you need to do is pop all the ingredients in, select your programme and the machine does the rest for you. I don't need to do a thing other than eat the bread.

So far I've only tried a plain loaf, but as you can see there are numerous settings on the maker and I'm certainly going to be trying out a few more things. I'm going to try adding some fruit to my mix too and create a fruit loaf, which would be super yummy.

The break maker of course, does non-GF bread too, so it works perfectly for me and the hubby when we're both craving some fresh food. I would definitely recommend trying out a bread maker if you're GF, it's so simple and will save you so much money in the long run.

You can find the Tower bread maker here.

The To Read List.

I've recently become a bookworm once again. I've always read, despite being dyslexic I find it really therapeutic. There is nothing better than whisking yourself off into a world of imagination and having a good read for a few hours.

I've picked up a few blogger-recommended books to read and I've already got stuck in to Before I Go To Sleep. I'm hoping to do book reviews on here when I've made it through the pile, which I'm constantly adding to. In fact, I picked up Elizabeth is Missing by Emma Healey last week for half price in WHSmith. I've heard great things about these books, I best get back to reading.

What books would you recommend?

The Ultimate Beauty Wishlist.

Untitled #74

One of my 'resolutions' this year was to save and spend my pennies on good quality make up and skincare, rather than blitzing all my pennies on products I don't really use. So here is the ultimate indulgent beauty wishlist that I will forever be saving for.

I'm still totally obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury, hence the few picks from her range. I have a few of her nude lipsticks so would love to try some more vibrant colours in the range. I'm dying to pick up the Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette too, hopefully it will make it's way to me soon.

There seems to be so many gorgeous eye shadow palettes out right now. The Nars Dual Intensity Palette looks incredible. All the shades are super wearable and the packaging is to die for - need.

I really need to up my skincare game. I've been getting lazy and not doing my double cleanse as much as I should be, plus I've totally been rejecting the moisturiser recently. I must pick up some decent skincare asap and I've hear such great things about Aesop and Antipodes and now Aesop has made it's way to Manchester I will hopefully be able to try some bits out.

What's on your wishlist?

OOTD: Quirky Disney.

Tee - Army of No Country*

I LOVE THIS TEE. Hello Disney, floral crown and a quirky design and I'm sold. This is such a cool t-shirt I'm unsure if I'm cool enough to wear it. Nevertheless I adore the fit and style and therefore it will be glued to me at any opportunity. I plan to style this up with some cute denim shorts in the summer but for now I will be teaming it with something a little warmer.

Go check out AONC website, they have some amazingly cool items and a few more Disney-inspired tees that will certainly making their way to my collection asap. The quality is fantastic and a complete bargain at £20, if you ask me.

The Prettiest Notepad.

I've become a bit of a stationary hoarder recently. I have absolutely no reason to have so many pretty pieces of stationary but I just can't help myself. This gorgeous notebook is from Chroma* which is the ultimate website for stationary lovers. I picked the colour of my pad froma  range of colours and gold embossing which is just so chic and simple. I went for an empowering quote to keep me motivated when I'm procrastinating AKA all of the time..

The note pads are amazing quality, I went for lined pages but you can pick squared and plain pages if you wish. All the pads this size are £7.50, which is a fab deal for something personalised and would make the perfect gift for someone special. I will certainly be stopping by to pick up a few more notepads.

Yankee Berrylicious.

The hubby and I went to Knustford for a little walk around and some yummy lunch recently and I needed to share my very exciting bargain. I'm pretty obsessed with candles and Yankee are some of my faves. I've currently got about 3 candles on the go, so naturally I needed another to add to my collection. We popped into the Yankee shop in Knutsford to find a pretty amazing 50% off sale, so I picked up this Berrylicious limited addition candle for £10.

I'd been eyeing up this scent for some time so when I saw I could get the large for a tiny price, I ran to the till. This is the most fruity, sweet smelling candle which will be perfect for moving into spring. I can't wait to get burning this, except a little bit of me doesn't want to spoil that perfect new candle look.

What scents are you loving at the moment?

Charlotte Tilbury Bargain Buys.

The obsession with CT continues to grow. I've been scouring Depop religiously in search of some more CT products. Recently I managed to bag a brand new Pillow Talk Lip Cheat for £12 and the Nude Kate (very fitting name..) lipstick for £15.

I've been utterly obsessed with using these products, together and separately. The Lip Cheat totally lives up to the hype and I feel as if this colour and formula could do no wrong. I've found Pillow Talk goes perfectly with MAC Patisserie, which has been my go-to lippy for quite some time. Nude Kate is a gorgeous nude with sort of peachy undertones and surprisingly suits my pale complexion really well. I can see this lippy will be up there with my most used.

I can't wait to pick up some more CT bargains, I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more products.
