Lightening my Ombre.

Once again I got bored with my locks and wanted them a tiny bit lighter. With that in mind, I popped to Superdrug and picked up a hair lightener, this time in the form of L'Oreal Feria Extreme Ombre. I've never tried this one before, or any of the other ombre kits from L'Oreal, but it was a really good experience.

The kit comes with a brush type applicator, which you pour the dye onto then brush through your hair. I love the concept and it makes it so easy to get a good coverage over all of you locks. After sectioning my hair into two parts, I covered my previous ombre with this and gradually brushed a little higher. The developing time is 25-45 minutes, which is actually less that previous hair lighteners, that I've used. I left this on for the full 45 minutes, because my hair was quite dark higher up, so I wanted to get as much lift as possible.

Of all of the lighteners I've used on my hair, this one seems to have done the least damage to the ends. I generally expect some damage but this was hardly noticeable, despite lightening the ends a lot. The dye actually smelt okay too, it wasn't so overpowering that it made my eyes sting, which is always a good thing. This did leave me with a tinge of orange to my hair which was pretty dark underneath. However after toning my hair twice, I was left with the colour above and I'm super happy with it.

Lastly, I thought these photos were a good opportunity to show off one of my new lipsticks. This is the MUA Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry, which I am completely obsessed with. The colour pay off and staying power is amazing - you seriously need these in your life.
