Dress - OMG Fashion*
Boots - New Look

When I attended the OMG Fashion event a few weeks back (post here) the first 30 people to attend got £50 to spend on their online store. I some how made it into the first 30 (number 28!) and was very kindly sent over a code to use on their website. This is one of the pieces I picked up, I love the PVC skirt look at the moment and this dress was too cute to pass up. The skirt is a really fab length for my stumpy legs and the tan colour is really lovely. The top half of the dress is a chiffon feel with a cut-out back, making it really floaty and compliments the skirt perfectly. I think this little number will be accompanying me to Cyprus.

Soap & Glory Newness.

On Thursday I was very kindly invited to a Soap & Glory event in Manchester. It was such an exciting event and summed up S&G down to a T. The event was held at a cute and quirky little cafe at Manchester Cathedral called Proper Tea and we were treat to lots of lovely cakes and sweet treats as well as pink lemonade and Prosecco

The event was all about the launch of of Soap & Glory's new range of body products under the cheeky name of Orangeasm. The range consists of a Body Wash, Super Tonic Fragrance and a Body Butter which all smell incredible. The scent reminds me a lot of the Jo Malone Orange Blossom, it's really citrus-y and fresh with hints of lemon, and whisks you away to some little Spanish village that grows it's own fruit. I was very lucky to receive the Body Wash and Super Tonic Fragrance in my goodie bag, along side some golden oldies from the S&G range.

After speaking with some of S&G's staff I've also learnt how much time and effort goes into making these gorgeous scents. It takes a lot of experimenting with 'flavours' to come up with the finished product. The ranges are developed by people who really know their skincare, along with dermatologists to makes sure the products actually work. I've certainly been convinced to try out some of their facial skin care next time I'm in Boots.

I can't wait to really give these new products a go, expect some reviews. And keep your eyes peeled for the new range Orangasm to hit the shops in the next few months - yum.

What's your favouirte Soap & Glory product?

Travel Essentials.

You may or may not know I'm off to Cyprus on Tuesday with uni, so any extra cash I've had recently has been spent on picking up essentials before I travel. My suitcase is pretty small so I've been trying to save space with buying travel minis and those empty containers to de-pot my shampoo etc. into. I spotted these little travel bags in The Body Shop a few weeks back, when the promotion was spend £20 and get £10 off, so essentially this was half price. The set includes the travel bag, a mini shower gel, mini body butter, mini body scrub and a shower puffy thing. The mini-travel sets come in most the 'flavours' but I couldn't resist picking up this olive one.

I despised the scent of the olive range when I smelt it in the shop, but the hubby insisted on picking the shower gel up. So of course, I gave it a go in the shower and I was completely converted. The scent seems so different once it's foamed up, it's really fresh but sort of sweet too and really gives you that much needed boost on a morning. This is now my go-to shower gel scent and I can't wait to try out the other mini products in this travel set.

You can pick this set up at The Body Shop for £12.

Rivington Pike.

Sometimes it's nice to spend your weekend exploring your local area. Being a student, money can sometimes be tight towards the end of the month so me and the hubby decided to spend sometime outside and take advantage of the dry weather. We walked up Rivington Pike in Bolton and saw the pretty amazing views from the top. We took up a little picnic to, although the icy cold wind meant we saved our picnic for when we were in the warmth of our flat. It was just nice to be out in the fresh air and spend some time together without spending a penny - sometimes all you need is your feet and a place to explore. Anyway I took a few photos while we were exploring, so I thought I would share them with you, enjoy!

Central Heating Skin Saviours.

My skin has a mind of it's own at this time of year - particularly my lips and hands. The air-con at work dries my lips out so much and they central heating at home makes my skin really confused. I've never been more thankful for an amazing lip balm and barrier cream to enter my life. I was kindly sent these items from Farmaline to give my skin that much needed boost as we move into spring.

The Cicaplast Barrier Repairing Balm* for lips from La Roche Posay is the ultimate lip balm. My lips are unbelievably dry the majority of the time and I will have a good few lip balms rolling around in my bag constantly. However since I've been using this once in the morning pre-skincare routine and once before bed I've not been needing to apply anything else. This does exactly what it says on the tin - it's a thick barrier cream texture, it's clear so doesn't leave that awful white residue and it tastes pretty yummy too. This is a new favourite of mine, I don't have anything negative to say.

The second item I received was the Cicaplast Baume B5* which is a gorgeously thick repair balm which can be used pretty much anywhere. I've been applying this to my nose area to relieve some dryness I've been experiencing and it's done a fantastic job. You need the tiniest amount of this balm to pop on the dry area and you're good to go. This does leave a 'barrier' so the skin is protected, however it is clear and matte so you're not left with a weird residue. This is a great multi-purpose balm that will firmly take a place in my handbag.

The Double Cleanse.

I've been double cleansing for a good year now, thanks to the skincare guru that is Caroline Hirons. I can honestly say my skin hasn't even been happier than it is now - I know it's not just down to the DC but I'm sure it has improved my skin a huge amount.

I begin my cleanse using the No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser. This is the perfect consistency for removing make up and leaving my skin ready for my second cleanse. This goes on as a thick gel but the second it comes into contact with water it turns into a milky cleanser. It reminds me a lot of the Clarins Melting Gel Cleanser, I think this is a great dupe.

For my second cleanse I use the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish.  I've recently been converted back to C&P and I'm now wondering why I even moved away from it. I love the creaminess of this cleanser and how therapeutic massaging it into my skin is - plus it smells amazing fresh. I think this is the perfect second step in my cleanse as the C&P really gives my skin that much needed nourishment without stripping my skin.

I've raved about the Sarah Chapman Cleansing Mitts before, but this is what I use to remove my cleansers and what I wash my face with everyday. I love the ease of these mitts, they are lovely to use and leave me feeling super clean. I tend to remove my make up or first cleanser with the 'flannel' side and the C&P with the softer 'muslin cloth' side.

If you don't already DC, give it a go for a few weeks - you might be surprised at the results!

Do you double cleanse?

Hat - Dorothy Perkins
Tee - Topshop
Necklace - Primark
Jeans - H&M
Boots - Dresslily*
Nails - OPI I love Applause*
Ring - Pandora

The weather wasn't really on our side this weekend so we popped to Barton Square at the Trafford Centre to have a nosey at the home stuff and this is what I wore (and a coat!). I picked this tee up from Topshop recently, and I love it. I adore Berlin and it's possibly my favourite city so I couldn't not bring this home with me. These boots also arrived from Dresslily this week, they're really cute and quirky and I've  not seen any riding-style boots like these before.

I was also kindly sent one of the OPI varnishes from the Muppets Most Wanted collection in I love Applause. It's a gorgeous nudey pink shade and is perfect for those days where you want a natural, barely-there nail. This will certainly be spending lots of time on my nails.

What did you get up to this weekend?

The At Home Facial.

I've been in love with my Balance Me Radiance Face Oil* for a good 6 months or so. I literally slather this all over my face before bedtime and let it work it's magic. Recently I picked up The Body Shop Facial Massager and I've been experimenting with it in my skincare routine. I don't know if it's psychological but I do feel like my facial oil works just that little bit harder after I massage it into my skin. I seem to have a little bit more of a 'glow' after using these together and they leave me fresh faced in the morning.

I have also been using this little tool alone. I've massaged my face after cleansing a before toning to get the blood circulating and my skin feeling plump. I tend to roll this in an upwards motion over my face, particularly focusing on my cheeks and forehead. I then give my neck a little massage and continue with my skincare routine.

I don't know the science (if there is any) behind how this little device works, but I do know it makes my skin happier. And on days where I use it without the facial oil, it's just nice to spend a few minutes relaxing and massaging you're face - especially after a long day at work.

You can pick up The Body Shop for £6.00 in stores or online.

The Body Shop Blueberry Scrub-Gelee.

I am a major fan of body scrubs, I love that feeling of super soft skin after a good exfoliation. My general go-to body scrub has always been one from Soap & Glory, but recently I've been stepping inside The Body Shop more and more. When I saw the Blueberry range had hit the shops I knew I needed to pick up something, and of course I grabbed the body scrub.

I love the fact that this looks a lot like jam - for your skin. And to be fair it does smell good enough to eat! The scrub is actually described as a 'scrub-gelee' and I think that sums up the consistency perfectly. This uses seeds to help with the exfoliation, making it a really nice, but not too harsh, scrub to use. The scrub also has honey in to add some extra gorgeousness and to make this scrub really nourishing on the skin. I think this is the perfect scrub for those with slightly more delicate skin, like me.

This is a little messy in the shower, but it's very much worth the purple splatters for smooth skin and to smell delicious for the rest of the day. I think it's fair to say The Body Shop's scrubs are a firm favourite.

Have you tried anything from the Blueberry range?

Spring Nails.

I took full advantage of my two weeks of annual leave to paint my nails. I'm well and truly to say goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring, so I went for Spring-themed nails last week. I applied my MUA Pistachio Ice Cream as a base colour (I've heard this is a dupe for Essie Mint Candy Apple) and a L'Oreal Gold Leaf top coat to finish. And of course, I topped it off with a layer of the infamous Seche Vite to keep my nails chip-free.

What colours have you been wearing for Spring?

L'Oreal TXT Volume Supersizing Spray.

I've said it before many times, my hair is very fine but I have lots of it. To add to my annoyance, it is also naturally pin-straight and has very little movement or volume if I don't style it. I'm always so envious of those that seem to have super bouncy locks with very little effort, and I've searched the high street for a product that will give my hair a little something. I thought I'd found my dream product in the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray (post here) and don't get me wrong, it is still a great product, but I know if I use it I'm going to have to wash my hair the following day. And so the hunt continued, until I stumbled across the L'Oreal TXT Volume Supersizing Spray.

Where shall we start with this product? I use it just like the CW spray, blasting at my roots and giving a good old ruffle. This leaves a lot less obvious 'gritty' feeling in your hair, so if you don't like that hairspray-esque touch, this one is for you. The only way I can describe the feel is a lot like dry shampoo, minus the white coating. I'm not sure how this works, but it seems to add some texture to even the finest of hairs, giving my some much needed volume.

This is really easy to brush out too. I find it disappears after a good brush through and you could get away with not washing your hair to get this out. The scent is really great too, not overpowering but very pleasant and sort of 'perfumey', just-left-the-salon smell.

Lastly, holding power. I spritzed this in before taking a VERY windy trip to Liverpool and my hair stayed big and bouncy until I returned home. I also spray this into the ends of my hair, to stop them falling flat too. I think this would be a great product to use if you were going for a super messy pony tail. You could give this a good blast on the actual pony tail and voila, a texturised hair style, with very minimal effort. This spray is great if you don't have much time to style your hair on a morning, one quick spritz and you're good to go.

OOTD: Casual Sundays.

Jacket - ASOS
Vest - Dorothy Perkins
Jeans - Primark
Shoes - Primark

This was what I wore to attend a blogger meet up in Manchester this weekend. I wanted to go quite casual and as my ASOS jacket has only been on one outing this year, I thought it was a good opportunity to get it out of the house. I'm currently obsessed with these jeans from Primark. I think they are part of a new range, they're £11 and a really good fit. They're actually really well made and aren't too long for my tiny legs! I think I will be investing in a few more pairs.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil.

I'm a huge fan of facial oils. In fact, my dry patches can't get enough of them. I literally cover my face with a facial oil before bed, resembling something of a chip pan, and wake up with plump, fresh and moisturised skin. I was recently sent the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil* to try out in comparison to my much loved Balance Me Radiance Facial Oil*, which is a firm favourite of mine.

First up Pai is an organic skincare brand for sensitive skin. This I can very much relate to, my skin is unbelievably sensitive at times and certainly needs some TLC. The Rosehip Oil is suitable for all skin types, so even those oily-skinned girls - this is for you too. Rosehip Oil is used in the beauty industry to reduce scarring, repair damaged skin and provide the skin with that all important Vitamin A without irritation.

Okay, I'm going to take a moment to discuss the smell of this product. This is rosehip oil, no added scent to make it smell yummy - nope this smells, well, like rosehips(?!). It's sort of woody and very natural, but to be honest the scent really isn't for me. I actually applied this alone one night and couldn't handle the scent so I've been mixing this with my other facial oil to mask it a little.

The other thing to bear in mind, is the colour. I have no qualms about the orange colour, but be warned if you have white pillow cases, they won't be white for long. Once this is massaged into your face the colour seems to 'sink' in a little, but it does leave a slight tint to the skin

Moving on from those points, the oil itself is pretty good. I like the consistancy and the fact it doesn't take much working into the skin. I do much prefer mixing it with my other oils to mas the smell, but that may be cos I have quite a sensitive nose and the scent is just a little overpowering for me. It leaves my skin nice and smooth and adds a natural 'glow' to my cheeks. I don't have much scarring left on my face, so I can't comment on that, but it certainly has a good go at repairing damaged skin when I've had a little break out.

This is one for those that are new to the facial oil world and want to try something to give their skin a little boost.

You can pick up the Roship BioRegenerate Oil from Pai's website here.

MAC Greensmoke.

I gave you all a tour of my MAC quad last week (post here) and today I wanted to focus on my newest shade, Greensmoke. I always play it quite safe when it comes to eye shadow. I tend to go for the neutrals and the odd purpley tones every now and again, so when I popped into Selfridges to choose my final colour I wanted something a little different. Greensmoke is a gorgeous gold toned green and when applied, it looks as though you're wearing multiple colours. This is the perfect shade for me to attempt to do a smokey eye, I'm still a little scared of super dark browns or black on my eyes, so I think this is the perfect compromise. I applied the colour above using my MAC 217 dupe from eBay, which FYI is pretty good and blended out using one of my other eye shadow brushes.

I'm super happy with this shade and I can't wait to experiment with it more. Now my quad is full I'm tempted to go all out and get the empty 15 pan...
