Books to Read 2013.

Untitled #33

This post is inspired by Bloggers Bookshelf - if you've never see this blog go check it out here, but basically it's a place for lots of reviews of good and bad books from fellow bloggers. I thought I would join in with their last post and do a post of books I hop to read this year. A few have been recommended on Bloggers Bookshelf as good reads, so I'm looking forward to starting!

Is it just me? - I don't think a great deal needs to be said about this choice. Miranda is hilarious, I hope her book does her justice!

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - The film is amazing (I only saw it last week on SkyGo) and I really want to give the book a go, especially if it lives up to the film.

The Lying Game - This is part of a series of books, which I believe are also a TV show? I've read the synopsis a few times, and seen many people raving about the series, so I want to get on board and see what all the excitement is about.

Eat Pray Love - I've already started this, I'm about 1/3 of the way through and I love it. I LOVED the film but the book, I must say is better.

Last Chance Saloon - This is just from an author I love. I enjoy these types of books cos you don't have to think too much, and can just enjoy the ride.

Go Ask Alice - I feel as if I should have read this already. This is a true story about a girl addicted to drugs and basically gives a dairy of her life. Sounds very interesting.

Where Rainbows End - I read this when it first came out - a long time ago. I loved every page of this book, it's just a lovely story and makes me smile.

The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of The Window and Disappeared - This is waiting on my Kindle right now. I saw it was 20p in the Kindle store and had seen good reviews so I bought it!

Have you got any 'must read' books to recommend?

Katie xx

  1. I HATED Eat, Pray, Love. I read it before the movie went out, I had such huge hopes for it, but it's terrible! She's moaning throughout the book and saying how to change her life - so easy to travel - tight - give me a book deal and lots of cash and I can also go and live in all these places. :(

I also want to read The Lying Game - I read all Pretty Little Liars books and I need some more! ;)

  2. I'd really recommend a series by Lauren Oliver if you like books that are made into films - the first book is called Delirium, the second is Pandemonium and the third is being released in March! They're incredible dystopian novels and they're getting made into a movie - it's going to be the next Hunger Games for sure, read them before all the hype starts ;D xx

  3. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is one of the best films I've seen in a long time, must read the book!! I'd recomment Life of Pi, it's amazing. X

  4. good choice of books! :) Definitely read any books from Jackie Collins, shes an amazing writer :) Hey, if you want, check out my blog, If you like it follow on GFC and Bloglovin, and I ALWAYS follow back xx – Vanessa Mae

  5. I'd recommend anything by William Boyd, two of his books have been adapted for tv; Restless and Any Human Heart. Both are utterly fantastic as are The New Confessions or Ordinary Thunderstorms xxx

  6. Great Post. I loved The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, I may treat myself to the book soon xx

  7. I've never heard of any of these books before, but Is It Just Me? perks my interest. If you're into humorous science fiction, I'd recommend The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Confessions of a Shopaholic is a great book, too!

  8. Thanks for recommending this blog, I've just started following and am looking forward to finding some new books to read x

  9. Is It Just Me? is amazing! The way it's written is just as she talks on the show, I've laughed out loud so many times. Hope you enjoy it too!

  10. Eat Pray Love is one of the best reads I've ever had. If you enjoyed it you should also try The Happiness Project. The author Gretchen Rubin, describes a lot of changes she makes as "everyday versions of Gilbert's life changing story".

Is it just me? looks really good too!

  11. I LOVE Miranda Hart - she is amazing! I have been watching her tv series religiously :)

Thank you for following my blog! x

  12. I sooo wanna read Eat Pray Love!! I'm currently reading the Game of Thrones books :) xxx
