Can't take my eyes off you.

Not feeling fab today, to be honest. The day has finally arrived, that I need to go to the hospital for a flexible sigmoidoscopy - try saying that when you've had a drink or two. So pretty nervous about the whole thing, but will hopefully get to the bottom (pardon the pun) of my bowel issues! The prep for this procedure isn't nice at all, I won't go into detail but I'm not feeling on top of the world right now.

Anyway, enough moaning, I need to take my mind off the matter, and review my latest make up product. When I went to see my friend at the weekend, I went hunting for a new mascara, I was relying on Superdrug or Boots having some sort of deal on, but we couldn't find Boots and so off to Superdrug we went.

When did mascara become so overpriced?! I haven't bought any since before Christmas, due to my free Soap & Glory number from which ever mag it was. I wasn't prepared to spend TONS of money so thought I would check out the MUA counter. I've used a few of their products in the past, mainly because they are such good value for money. I love their eyeshadow, and after looking at literally every other mascara brush in the store, MUA came out on top.

Firstly, the brush is fab. This is just the style of brush I like, I'm not into the combs or curved ends, I just like thick and chunky. Okay, this is priced at £2, so I picked it up thinking it wouldn't be the most amazing mascara in the world, but was worth a try for the price. I've got to say I'm pretty impressed. It maybe doesn't go on as thickly as I would like but certainly does what you would expect from a budget mascara.

One thing that annoys me more than ANYTHING with eye-make up, is when it decides it belongs under your eye rather than on your lashes. I've discovered this with a couple of highstreet brands like Collection 200 and Rimmel, for some reason they don't have the staying power they need. This MUA product didn't disappoint in that department as I am pleased to say it stayed in place, through a whole 10 hour shift too!

Would I buy this again? If I was totally skint, and need a new mascara, then yes I would. It didn't quite build-up the way I would have liked it to, but for the price it was defiantly more impressive than I would have expected. But in future, I think I'm going to revert back to what I know and pick up another No7 mascara.

Do you know of any fab mascara's I should try?

P.S. Just caught up with last night's Made In Chelsea, I just felt the need to say Spencer is a tool. That is all.

  1. Hey girly,

There's two I use. One you can find at Sehora and it's called "they're real!" I believe by BeneFit.

The other you can find at any drugstore, it's called Lash Stilettos by Maybelline.

    They're awesome!
